Provide housing for the homeless in Kerala and provide better living conditions. This is the goal envisioned by the Government through the Life Plan. The first phase of Life was to complete the construction of unfinished houses under various schemes. There were 54,098 such houses in the state. In a thousand days, 50,144 families have had their dreams come true. These families were able to complete the closed houses through the ‘Life’ project.

The second stage of life is to build a house for the homeless. The survey identified 1,84,255 such beneficiaries. . The aim was to provide financial assistance for the construction of houses for those who own land. Of this, construction of 83,688 houses has started. The financial assistance for the construction of a house is Rs 4 lakh. Construction of 1,28,101 houses is in progress with all the projects being implemented by Life Mission.

The third phase of life has already begun. The third phase is the construction of housing complexes for families who do not own a house or land. In Idukki Adimali, housing complex for 217 families has been handed over. Housing complexes have been identified in all the districts. Many local bodies are also finding land. Housing complexes will be built on time where land is found.

The government has also taken steps to ensure that the implementation of the Life Plan is not hampered financially. The loan was secured by a government guarantee from Hudco. The loan from Hudco was Rs 4,000 crore.
