Fried pathiri is the common breakfast or dinner dish of southern kerala,especially in calicut and malabar . Can be served with chikken curry/mutton curry /fish curry .It is very tasty and simple to make.

Rice powder 1 cup
Water 1.5 cup
Ghee 1 tablespoon
Grated coconut 2 tablespoon
Cumin seed 1/2 tablespoon
Shallot 2
Maida 1.1/2 tablespoon
Black cumin 1 tablespoon
How to make

Heat a wide pan and boil water in it. Add 1/2 tablespoon ghee and enough salt into water .When the water boiled turn the flame to low
and add rice powder little by little and stir continuously.Then mix well . Later cover and let it sit for 1 minute.Meanwhile in mixer add 2 tablespoon grated coconut,2 shallots and 1/2 tablespoon cumin seed and crush it. Transfer rice powder into a tray ,add 1/2 tablespoon maida into it..Then knead well..After that we can add crushed coconut mix into it and add black cumin along with that.Again knead well very smoothly..Then transfer the whole dough to a counter top.Sprinkle little flour and roll it. Roll it slowly.Cut these using a cookie cutter or glass cut.We need it with 1 cm thickness.Take out the excess dough and use again to make pathiri.Heat oil in a kadai(low to medium heat)..Fry every pathries.Flip when one side is ready.Continue in low to medium flame.we can fry 2 or 3 at a time.When it starts to change the colour take out from oil. Drain the excess oil. Serve as it is or we can serve with curry.
